Uncle Roy/Perty was born Rupert Royes on January 30, 1930.
He was the first child of Ogan Royes from the Adolphus branch of the Royes
family tree.

Uncle Roy married his beloved Thelma 'Jean' Henry-Royes in 1967.
He had one son, Beresford Royes who has three children and 3 grandchildren. He is also survived by 8 brothers and sisters, more than 30 nieces and nephews and a multitude of other relatives and friends.

After a short illness he left this life at 9:03 a.m. on Thursday, July 15,
2010 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 31 at Merrill United Church
in Fort Lauderdale, Florida at 10 a.m.

He was loved and will be missed by many, may his soul rest in peace.

The annual pledge of $25.00 per household (defined by a single home address) was first approved by majority votes at our 2007 International Family Reunion, which took place in Florida, USA. This was seen as a major initiative.

In 2008, under the leadership of Philip and Dexter Royes, an accounting process was established. This process created audit controls for collection of donations and reconciliation of expenses. It is a vital step in the fulfillment of an important goal, which is to establish a financial foundation that would further the Royes Family initiatives.

This team has the responsibility to advance our family's agenda and assists in planning the 2011 reunion. Don Royes was re-elected as the president, and is serving his third term. Central/South America Region will host the 2011 Family Reunion During our business meeting, the family voted that the Central / South America region will assume the responsibility of hosting the 2011 reunion. Under the guidance of the leadership team, the Central / South America leader, Gilberto Rodrigues, will coordinate and plan this reunion. The region has many beautiful sites from which to choose as potential locations for the upcoming reunion. Within Central and South America there are many breath-taking options, and as more information becomes available this webpage will be updated.
